Course Overview

Our CPD Paediatric First Aid Course is designed for parents, grandparents, babysitters and anyone caring for babies or young children who wants the skills and confidence to act quickly in an emergency.

This is not a slide-based or theory-heavy course.

It is practical, interactive and scenario-based, giving you real-world skills you can use immediately when seconds matter most.

You will leave feeling calm, confident and capable of handling emergencies at home, school or out in the community.

Adrian Roberts

Specialist Paramedic in Critical Care
MCPara • AP • SP • DipHE • PGCert (Dist.)

Training is personally delivered by Adrian, a frontline 999 paramedic working in critical care and life-threatening emergencies.

He was awarded a Distinction in Critical Care, the highest academic grade achievable, representing the most advanced level of paramedic practice.

This means you’re learning from someone who:

• treats critically ill children in real emergencies
• uses these skills daily
• teaches from genuine frontline experience, not just a textbook

You will not find this level of clinical expertise on standard first aid courses.

What You Will Learn

During this hands-on session, you will learn how to:

• Recognise and respond to an unresponsive infant or child
• Perform child and infant CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Manage choking incidents safely and effectively
• Treat bleeding, burns and scalds
• Recognise and respond to seizures and febrile convulsions
• Deal with head injuries
• Manage allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
• Recognise signs of meningitis
• Provide first aid for fever and common childhood illnesses

All skills are practised using professional training manikins and equipment.
